In conjunction with this year’s World Oceans Day (June 8) and Coral Triangle Day (June 9), WWF partnered with hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Japan and Indonesia for the first regional Sustainable Seafood Festival (mySSF14). This festival is part of WWF’s ongoing initiative to raise awareness on the global decline of fish stocks and to collaborate with the government, businesses and local communities towards achieving a sustainable fisheries management. Participating hotels showcased new recipes using sustainable seafood choices during the festival, which also included two social media components: “The Sustainable Seafood Selfie Photo Contest” and “Be a S.O.S Champion: Create the #saveourseafood trend” campaign.
