On May 12, the Provincial Government of Cebu, led by Governor Hilario Davide III and Provincial Board Member Thadeo Ouano (who chairs the environment committee), adopted a resolution requesting its component cities and municipalities to join this year's Coral Triangle Day celebrations. This was followed by a June 2 memorandum from the Department of the Interior and Local Government directing all Provincial Directors and City Directors to encourage LGUs within their jurisdiction to celebrate the Coral Triangle Day.
