CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat and Blue Institute Join Forces to Promote Sustainable Blue Economy

In a significant stride towards fostering sustainable marine practices, the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) and the Blue Institute have inked a landmark collaboration agreement. The signing ceremony, held on 14th March 2023 at the Seychelles Mission in Jakarta by Dr. Frank Griffin, Executive Director of CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat, H.E. Dr. Nico Barito, Founder & Chair of Blue Institute, and Mr. Owen Rahadiyan, Commissioner of Blue Institute Nusantara, marks a significant milestone in collaborative efforts for marine conservation.

Witnessed by HE Mr. Wahyu Sakti Trenggono, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of Indonesia, also CTI-CFF Council of Minister member, and Mr. Retsuo Fukudai, President Director of Japan JTrust Bank, the partnership was sealed. Blue Institute Ltd., operating under the laws of the Republic of Seychelles, stands at the forefront of this collaborative effort. The partnership aims to synergize efforts towards organizing the Global Blue Economy Conference during the Coral Triangle Day event, in June 2024.

Through this collaboration, both entities aspire to magnify the impact of conservation endeavors, foster sustainable economic growth, and advocate for responsible management of marine resources. Furthermore, this conference plays a pivotal role in advocating for the indispensable contribution of the Coral Triangle Conservation Fund (CTCF) towards fostering diverse conservation activities within the Coral Triangle region.

Present at this signing event were, among others, Dr. Yang Mee Eng, CEO of CTCF, Mr. Christovel R.S. Rotinsulu, Deputy Executive Director for Program Services at CTI-CFF, and Mr. Hanung Cahyono, Deputy Executive Director for Corporate Services at CTI-CFF.
