(Temporary Staff under Contract for Service – 3 months)

 

(to be based in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.)

 

The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) is a multilateral partnership of six countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste) working together to sustain extraordinary marine and coastal resources by addressing crucial issues such as food security, climate change and marine biodiversity,  seeks a self-motivated, detail oriented and highly organized individual as a TECHNICAL OFFICER to assist the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat (RS) in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

The Officer is required to perform the duties and undertake the responsibilities in a professional manner. The duties and responsibilities may be amended from time to time, subject to mutual agreement with the rules and regulations. 

 

Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of the new Technical Officer shall include, but not limited to:

  1. Provide technical GIS expertise for data inputs, validation, and analyses for the Coral Triangle Atlas.

  2. Good technical and financial implementation and reporting of projects.

  3. Strategic communication of project outcomes to internal and external stakeholders. 

  4. Co-leading on collaborative processes with internal and external stakeholders in the framework of the projects.

  5. Provides strategic and technical input into program areas as requested.

  6. Communication of and advocates for CTI-CFF work and achievements.

  7. Assist to Identify opportunities for project development and resources and takes a leading role in project bid teams.

  8. Responsible for donor stewardship: pro-active and timely communication with the donor including sharing of successes and lessons.

  9. Proactively seeks and develops new strategic partnerships.

  10. Establishes and manages relevant internal and external contacts with key internal and external stakeholders of the organization.

  11. Represents CTI-CFF in relevant fora and events.

  12. Provide support and assistance in the preparation and execution of major events, such as workshops, senior officials meeting, ministerial meetings, and any related meetings.

  13. Assists with M&E and RPOA 2.0 report writing.

  14. Represents CTI-CFF in relevant fora and events.

  15. Perform other assignment as assigned by the Executive Director and/or the Deputy Executive Director for Program Services.

  16. This position reports directly to the M&E Manager. 

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in relevant discipline; proven knowledge and skills in Geography Information System (GIS) is an advantageous prerequisite

  • At least 5 years working experience in project management international context

  • Proven excellent communication skills (written and oral) with fluent English; additional language skills of CT6 are desirable

  • Working experience in the NGO or Corporate sector delivering sustainable development solutions, with a substantial amount of Programme development and management experience

  • Experience of working in an international multi-cultural, interdisciplinary field

  • Personal network of international contacts

  • Ability to travel and work independently

  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced office environment, both independently and as part of a global team across time zones.

  • Highly motivated, proactive work style and excellent organizational skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and the Internet.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure with tight deadline

Other competencies

  • Interest in working in an international multi-cultural community

  • Active interest in current environment and development issues

  • Ability to operate in a multitude of languages (besides English) is an advantage

 

Period of Service

  • Period of contract: 3 months

  • Level of effort: 40 hours per week 

 

Remuneration 

The compensation (paid in Indonesian rupiah equivalent)  for this position depends on the candidate’s qualification and level of experience.
