About This Event

In 2020 the Convention on Biological Diversity will adopt a post-2020 global biodiversity framework as a stepping stone towards the 2050 Vision of “"Living in harmony with nature". In its decision 14/34 the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity adopted a comprehensive and participatory process for the preparation of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework.

Objectives

The process adopted by Parties to develop the post-2020 global biodiversity framework contains a set of principles to guide its implementation, an organization of work and sets out a comprehensive consultation process, including provisions for global, regional and thematic consultation meetings. An information note on ways and means to contribute to the development of the post-2020 global biodiversity framework has been developed  to provide background information and to outline various opportunities for Parties, other Governments, and all relevant organizations and stakeholders to participate.

About This Event

The International Forum on Coral Reefs is an international academic conference on coral reefs under the sponsor of Hainan South China Sea Institute of Tropical Oceanography (HITO). It aims to provide a professional, free and open platform for the exchange of global research institutions and experts on coral reefs. The second forum is co-hosted by HITO, Sanya Administration of Science and Technology Town and Hainan Tropical Ocean University.

Objectives

Will help improve the academic influence of Chinese coral reefs and promote the academic exchange and ecological restoration for global coral reefs.

Preface

This book collects the abstracts presented at the second International Conference on Asian and Pacific Coasts (APAC), held in Chiba, Japan on February 29 -March 4, 2004.
