The CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat recently paid a courtesy visit to the office of the North Sulawesi Provincial Government, engaging with Governor Olly Dondokambey, Vice Governor Steven Kandouw, Provincial Secretary Steve Kepel and Head of Provincial Marine and Fisheries Agency Mrs. Tinneke Adams.

The purpose of this visit was to introduce the new management team of the Regional Secretariat, including Executive Director Dr. Frank Keith Griffin, Deputy Executive Director for Corporate Service Hanung Cahyono, Deputy Executive Director for Program Service Christovel R.S. Rotinsulu, and CEO of Coral Triangle Trust Fund Dr. Yang Mee Eng.

During the meeting, the Regional Secretariat team provided insights into the Regional Plan of Action 2.0, which serves as the guiding framework for the six CTI-CFF member countries. They also discussed the trust fund initiative known as the Coral Triangle Conservation Fund (CTCF) and, notably, the plans for organizing Coral Triangle Day 2024. The Regional Secretariat also extended to the North Sulawesi Provincial Government its willingness to promote Manado and the surrounding areas as a tourist destination through its work.

This meeting is expected to strengthen the relationship between the North Sulawesi Provincial Government and the Regional Secretariat, fostering mutual support and enhancing the province's reputation as the host of the Regional Secretariat and the birthplace of CTI-CFF. Through collaborative efforts, both parties aim to elevate conservation efforts and promote sustainable development in the Coral Triangle region.
