Theme: Regional Maritime Environmental Security Information Sharing Workshop and Table Top Exercise
Goal: Strengthen capabilities to enhance maritime environmental security by identifying information sharing methods and techniques that are available to counter Illegal, Unregulated, and Unreported fishing in the Indo-Pacific region.
Table Top Exercise: Development of techniques to track vessels in the maritime domain
focusing on fishery management zones, national parks, and the Sulu-Suluwesi seascape.
Develop an agreeable list of information data to share, media in which to share, and formulate
a plan to determine how security interdiction and response work both regionally, nationally,
and transboundary.
Fusion Cell Development: Provide examples of current fusion cells. Develop a list of best
practices. Develop structured analysis techniques for information fusion, and develop policies
and procedures for information sharing.
Objectives
- Identify effective unclassified sources of information to track and monitor vessels fishing
or operating in marine protected areas. - Establish links within and among maritime regulatory and law enforcement agencies.
- Identify the required information sharing policies and procedures necessary to develop
an environmental security fusion cell.
