ATSEA 2 Project Team pays courtesy visit to the Regional Secretariat
On 14 October 2020, Dr. Handoko Adi Susanto, Regional Project Manager of ATSEA-2 Project together with his team, Ms. Casandra Tani, and Ms. Deti Triani, paid a courtesy visit to the Regional Secretariat.
The visit was aimed at formally introducing the ATSEA 2 project activities and team members; understanding the recent progress of CTI-CFF regional collaboration; finding common interest and issues between CTI-CFF and ATSEA 2; identifying collaboration opportunities.
The ATSEA 2 project covers three (3) of the Coral Triangle member countries – Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Timor–Leste which is supported by PEMSEA under the GEF funding. Some of the project’s commitment are to contribute on ecosystem approach fisheries management (EAFM); to design and designate two (2) new marine protected areas: off coast of Papua New Guinea and south coast of Timor-Leste; to design a regional MPA network and regional action plan on enhanced protected of endangered marine turtles, and improve scientific knowledge about climate change impact.
