CTI-CFF attends WCS-KfW EU Stakeholders’ Meeting

CTI-CFF through the Regional Secretariat attended the Wildlife Coservation Society(WCS)-KfW European Union Stakeholders’ Meeting on 23 February 2020 held at the CTI Center Building in Manado, Indonesia.

Dr. Mohd Kushairi Mohd Rajuddin, Executive Director of CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat, in his welcome speech, acknowledged WCS for including CTI-CFF to be one of its project partners on marine biodiversity and coastal livelihoods as well as coastal fisheries in Coral Triangle.  He also noted that CTI-CFF is looking forward for the project’s plan to support existing CTI-CFF initiatives.

Dr. Mathhew Linkie, Deputy Country Director of WCS Indonesia Program, said that they are looking at ways on how to be an active partner of CTI-CFF particularly on the development of MPAs, fisheries management and sustainable conservation financing mechanism. 

The meeting of the WCS also highlighted the message from Dr. Christine Heimburger, Director for East Asia/Pacific of KfW Development Bank who noted that CTI as a partner of WCS can assist in facilitating exchange of experience, bringing experts together and sharing of knowledge from one country to another.

Meanwhile, H.E. Vincent Piket, EU Ambassador to Indonesia and Brunei emphasized the support that CTI-CFF can be projects to WCS activities by expanding the project into other areas and strengthening the initiative in the ground.
