CONSULTANT FOR THE CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION (CCA) ACTION PLAN UPDATE

USAID Sustainable Coral Triangle

CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat


The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) Regional Secretariat is looking for a qualified, experienced, and motivated Consultant for the update of Climate Change Adaptation Action Plans      for each of the six member countries (CT6).

Job Mission Description 

  1. Update existing climate change adaptation action plans from CT6 countries guided by current climate change projections and technology.

  2. Design a comprehensive training program on climate adaptation policies and strategies, ensuring the involvement of women (WLF) and the CCA Working Group.

  3. Facilitate the training session to present the updated CCA action plan 


Expected Deliverables

  1. Updated climate change adaptation action plan.

  2. Comprehensive agenda, curriculum and report for the training program on climate adaptation policies and strategies.

  3. Training materials, including presentations, handouts, and exercises.

  4. Conducted training program/session (planned to hold together with WLF meeting in Bangkok, Thailand on September 11 to 13, 2024) with a report summarizing key outcomes and recommendations for future actions.

  5. Report on the training session

 


Engagement Period

The consultant will be engaged for 15 to 20 days based on the deliverables and contract agreement with the CTI-CFF, with all the deliverables expected to be completed by September 2024.

 

Competency Requirements

Competencies required for this Consultant position include:

  1. Advanced degree in environmental science, climate change adaptation, or a related field.

  2. Demonstrated experience in updating climate change adaptation action plans and designing training programs on climate adaptation policies and strategies.

  3. Familiarity with gender mainstreaming principles and experience in integrating gender considerations into policy development and training initiatives.

  4. Excellent communication and facilitation skills.


Coordination and Reporting

The Consultant will report directly to the Project Manager, USAID Sustainable Coral Triangle, CTI–CFF Regional Secretariat on expected deliverables and scope of work as outlined in the contract agreement with the CTI–CFF.
