FINANCE ASSISTANT MANAGER

 

The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) is a multilateral partnership of six countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste) working together to sustain extraordinary marine and coastal resources by addressing crucial issues such as food security, climate change and marine biodiversity,  seeks a self-motivate, detail oriented and highly organized individual as a Finance Assistant Manager to manage our financial activities at the Regional Secretariat (RS) of  CTI-CFF in Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

Position Summary:

The Assistant Finance Manager will carry out his/her responsibilities as part of a multi-sectoral team. This position requires a highly organized professional who possesses knowledge of administration, accounting, procurement, human resources, and other various finance related functions. The Assistant Finance Manager will report to the Finance Manager, support him/her on all office functions, and work closely with the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Directors.

 

Responsibilities:

·       Provide technical accounting activities, consolidating monthly cash needs from budget holders and compile monthly cash needs and ensure timely submission of information to the Finance Manager. Ensure cash flow is smooth covering all activities and in the sub offices.

·       Record daily financial transactions and vouchers and ensure proper and accurate codes and accounts of transactions.

·       Maintain current knowledge of local government requirements related to financial matters ensuring compliance with tax regulations and other legal requirements.

·       Assist Finance Manager in preparing donor financial reports in respect to accounting, legal and contractual requirements and ensure the review of such reports with the Program sections prior to submission.

·       Support the Finance Manager on the completion of internal control audits and initiate necessary actions.

·       Support banking account activities.

·       Perform the timely preparation of all monthly bank account and cash reconciliations.

·       Perform payroll officer functions for all employees.

·       Perform other duties and tasks as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 

Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or a suitable field.

Master’s degree or recognized professional certification is of advantage such as CPA etc.

Preferred with at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial work.

 

 

Requirements:

·       Computer literate, with experience in MS Office package and other financial packages.

·       Excellent Excel skills required and having experience in using accounting software (abacus, xero, etc)

·       Prior multi-cultural team leadership experience, independent thinker and self-starter.

·       Analytical and organized with excellent time management skills

·       Good written and verbal English communication skills.

 

Term of Employment:

This position is Specified Period Employment Agreement for an initial period of 1 (one) year, after which the position will be evaluated subject to organization needs and regular performance review
