About This Event
This event will consist of technical workshops and capacity-building training focusing on relevant topics related to fisheries management in these sub-seascape regions and the Coral Triangle Region. In addition, we hope to ensure the expertise and human resources present in this event are captured within the planned concurrent sessions relating to the specific activities under the EAFM TWG. This event will culminate with a Technical Working Group Meeting on Thursday 15 August 2024.
Objectives
In partnership with USAID SuFiA-TS the SSS REX 2 and the BSS REX are anticipated to be technical events with the specific objectives to:
i. Support the strengthening of the Sulu Sulawesi Seascape (SSS) EAFM Plan and COASTFISH Framework implementation among CTI-CFF member countries,
ii. Initiate the development of a sub-regional EAFM plan for the Bismarck Solomon Seascape (BSS) for the relevant countries to benefit equitably from the technical expertise and experiences on EAFM and other sustainable fishing practices; and
iii. Build technical capacity and knowledge on topics relevant to fisheries management and governance, including climate risk assessment in the CTI region.
